Abstract
The Khwarizmshah’s reaction against the Mongol invasion attack and his confrontation with the Mongol army was a worthy subject to be review, regardless of the factors and causes that led to Mongol invasion to Kharazmshahid territory.Historical sources show that the Sultan in escaping from the Mongols, were invaded by Mongols, just once, but time and place of the battle is not so clear. By The historical analytic method and by asking about the little existing data, this article seeks to make much clear, if possible, the Khwrizmshah’s reraction against the Mongol invation, beside of the Quality, time, and place of one Battle of them. This Study shows that Sultan Mohammad had scared of Mongols, although, he was retreated fromTransoxania to Iraq Ajam, Step by step, but finally, He Suffered to Attack of the Mongol army in Rajab 617 A.H., then, the Sultan could flee the scene but were murdered Sultan’s division. Unlike to what researchers claimed that the location of the Battle was the Plain of Malayer, this study shows that this Battle took place in Plain Farahan (Zolfabad region).
