The province of Behbahan and Kohgiluyeh had important political, social and economic importance from the beginning to the end of the Qajar era. However, from the political-social point of view, the Nasrid era is considered a turning point in Qajar era Iran; However, the previous method of buying and selling states and provinces and putting regions to auction was common, and Behbahan and Kohgiluyeh were also managed in this way. The Qajar rulers of the province used every means and tried to increase their income.The social and economic structure of Behbahan and Kohgiluyeh provinces was tribal and based on pastoral economy, and the collection of heavy taxes from the people led to numerous challenges and conflicts with the rulers. Of course, among the Qajar rulers of the Nasrid era and after, Sultan Uwais Mirza Ehtsham al-Dawlah was a different example compared to the previous rulers who ruled Behbahan and Kohgiluyeh provinces with a just governance style. This research seeks to answer these questions with a descriptive-historical analysis approach and by referring to first-hand sources. What were the political and social consequences of the appointment of Qajar governors in Behbahan and Kohgiluyeh provinces?What were the reasons for the acceptance of Ehtsham al-Dawlah's rule in Behbahan and Kohgiluyeh provinces? The findings of the research show that the appointment of incompetent and inefficient rulers, the collection of heavy taxes, conflicts between the government and the people, the forced migration of tribes and clans to neighboring and distant areas, the decrease in the population of rural and urban areas, and the style of governance. Ehtesham-al-Doulah in Behbahan and Kohgilouye is the answer to the questions of the present research in a fair and democratic way.a fair and democratic way.
